Walker Fowler has been on top of the podium in almost every class he has raced the past five years in GNCC competition. Most recently, he went undefeated in the Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) XC-2 Pro-Am class being the first ever XC1 or XC2 rider ever to accomplish this feat and taking two overall victories on his way to the 2011 XC2 championship.
Already an 9-year veteran racing ATVs nationally, Fowler got hooked on the sport at a very young age going to watch races with his dad. “He decided to take me to a race and watch his good friend Kim Kuhnle, who at the time was a top pro. I was hooked.”
“I'm attracted to ATV racing because of the family atmosphere,” Fowler says. “I gave up a normal childhood to devote it to racing. I wanted only to be a racer. Also, I have the best parents in the world that backed me all the way to get me where I am. I owe them everything!”
He says there have been some doubters along the way, but encourages young racers to stick to it. “Some people told me it would never happen, but their doubt just fueled the fire even more.”
A member of the Ballance Race Team, Fowler is looking forward to learning from some of the top GNCC pros as he makes his XC1 debut in Florida this March.
